The AURES Holdings Group, operator of the AAA AUTO and Mototechna international network of used car dealerships, sold three times as many EVs in the first six months of this year than in the same period last year. Most sales were in the Czech Republic, followed by Slovakia and then Poland in third place. Customers are able to choose from up to nine hundred pure EVs and twelve hundred hybrids per month on the Czech market. Interest in both types of car continues to grow.
“Thanks to the dramatic increase in sales of electric cars compared to last year, we can see that people have become much more aware of the emerging trend towards electromobility. Our company is constantly expanding the range of these cars at all 60 of our branches, while training our team of staff to provide customers with all of the information they need about the large number of models we offer. At the same time, we are building charging infrastructure, including the installation of photovoltaic panels, and we have a universal diagnostic solution at our disposal which allows us to objectively assess the condition of the battery-powered cars we buy. Customers are interested in fundamentally different parameters in the case of electric vehicles as compared to those powered by conventional combustion engines, which is why we have created a separate section on our website (www.aaaauto.cz) dedicated to these vehicles and tailored in such a way that customers can learn everything they need to know about the vehicle,” says Petr Vaněček, Chief Operating Officer of the AURES Holdings group, which operates the AAA AUTO and Mototechna network of used car dealerships.

However, the vehicles actually on offer on the Czech and Slovak markets differ slightly from those which are in demand. The Škoda Enyaq (8%) is the vehicle offered most often in the Czech Republic, followed by the slightly less popular BMW i3. By contrast, Slovak customers will most often find the Mercedes EQC offered at dealerships. On the Czech market, the electric cars most commonly on offer are 2.7 years old and have 30,000 km on the clock. In Slovakia, the vehicles on offer are slightly older and they usually have 20,000 kilometres more on the clock.
