AURES Holdings Group sets new sales record again in 2022

Prague, 10 January 2023 - The network of AAA AUTO, Mototechna, Auto Diskont and Driverama car dealerships, operated by AURES Holdings, achieved the best sales result in its 30-year history last year, selling a total of 89,100 vehicles. This was despite continuing problems with new car production, the war in Ukraine, rising inflation and a shortage of used cars. The Group achieved the sales record thanks to its strong market position combined with its unique direct-to-consumer sourcing technology and the launch of Driverama in Germany. The Group last year also reported more than 2.8 million customers served since 1992.

Karolína Topolová celebrates ten years at the head of AURES, seeing turnover almost triple

Prague, 15 November 2022 - In autumn 2012, the General Meeting of AAA AUTO confirmed Karolína Topolová as CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors. With this change, the company began the steps leading to its later sale to Abris Capital Partners and the change of its name to AURES Holdings. Topolová was there at the birth of the group's new strategy of significantly strengthening its customer orientation. The company modernized its branches and bet on the development of additional services and computerization. It successfully relaunched the Mototechna brand, which celebrates ten years of successful operation this year, and concentrated new car sales, its fastest growing segment, under this brand. These changes were followed in 2014 by the successful sale of a majority stake to AURES Holdings for a value in excess of CZK 6 billion. The biggest milestones in Topolova's successful tenure as Group CEO in recent years have been the rapid transition to online sales of used cars in the era of covid lockdowns and the expansion of the new Driverama brand in Germany. This year, under Topolová's leadership, AURES also celebrated 30 years of successful operation on the market.

AURES Holdings sells more cars in January-September than in the same period last year

Prague, 11 October 2022 – the AURES Holdings group, operator of the AAA AUTO, Mototechna, Auto Diskont and Driverama network of used car dealerships, sold 69,100 cars in the first nine months of this year. This is an increase of 6.7% on the same period last year. A total of 38,100 cars were sold in the Czech Republic, 14,400 in Slovakia, 15,400 in Poland and 1,200 in Germany. The group also opened a new branch in the Polish city of Poznan and is moving its used car dealership in Ústí nad Labem to a new location with a larger capacity. AURES Holdings also recently launched a new system for managing its business processes aimed at speeding up customer services.

27 July 2022 – Driverama from the AURES Holdings group has now been operating in Western Europe for one year. It launched retail sales in Germany eight months after starting up its purchasing infrastructure in the country. Prague, 7 January 2020 – Despite the clear signs of a slowdown throughout the new and used car sector in 2019, AURES Holdings again set a new sales record. AAA AUTO soon to open fiftieth dealership, as expansion helps towards annual target of 100,000 car sales

Prague, 2 April 2019 – The AURES Holdings group will accelerate its expansion this year. Three new AAA AUTO dealerships in Poland and Hungary opened on 1 April, another two will open in Poland in a couple of weeks and more will follow by the end of the year. A call centre has been opened in Katovice, Poland, and Mototechna Drive has opened its first foreign rental operation in Slovakia. Expansion is the main tool for achieving this year’s ambitious aim of selling up to 100,000 cars across the group. This would mean the group beating last year’s record of 83,000.

Prague, 7 January 2019 – The AAA AUTO network has broken its eleven-year sales record: in 2018 the AURES Holdings group, of which AAA AUTO is a part, sold almost 83,000 cars. Sales of 50,000 cars in the Czech Republic confirmed the group as the second largest domestic car seller after Škoda Auto. In Poland, the AAA AUTO network sold half as many cars again as in 2017, more than 9,000.

AAA AUTO sets new records, with car sales already equalling the figure for the whole of last year

AAA AUTO is well on the way towards setting a new record in its yearly vehicle sales on the Central European market. At the weekend the AURES Holdings group, to which the AAA AUTO network belongs, reached sales of 75 400 vehicles, the figure achieved for the whole of last year. This means that the figure for the whole of 2018 will very likely far surpass the psychological milestone of 80 000 vehicles sold in one year; the last time it came close to achieving this was in 2007, before the onset of the recession.

The most popular used car in the Czech Republic from January to June was the Škoda Octavia. The group also saw a rise in demand for cars with automatic transmission and SUV models.

Used car market sees 50 thousand more vehicles so far this year

Prague 10 July 2018 – The number of used cars on the market grew strongly during the first half of this year, with almost half a million offered for sale. The most frequent average asking price 134 000 crowns, with 164 277 km being the most common average mileage. Diesel is more popular so far this year, and the most popular vehicles were Škoda and VW. These facts emerged from an analysis conducted by AAA AUTO, which continuously monitors the used car market all over Central Europe.

Prague 6 June 2018 – Used car prices stagnated in May after registering a slight fall in April. Potential used car buyers saw an affordable average market price of CZK 135,000. National odometer registers are not enough. Monitoring requires a Union-wide solution

Prague, 9 May 2018 – The European Parliament’s Committee on Transport and Tourism has issued a report drawing attention to the alarming situation of the trade in vehicles with tampered odometers. The establishment of national odometer registers, which are still lacking in the Czech Republic, is a basic element that must be expanded throughout the European Union in order to create an international database. Warm weather in April brings used car market recovery, but prices fall slightly

Prague 3 May 2018 – The used car market registered a slight fall in sales prices as the main sales season got under way. A total of 108,786 vehicles were offered in April to customers across all regions of the Czech Republic. This figure came from statistics compiled by AAA AUTO, which constantly monitors the used car market throughout Central Europe. The price of vehicles offered in the Czech Republic averaged CZK 135,000, which meant savings of CZK 4,000 for customers, compared to March. However, the cars on offer were also slightly older, with an age of 9.7 years, and the typical odometer reading of the vehicles advertised was 160,000 kilometres, which is also a little higher on the month.

Prague 4 April 2018 – The last cold month of this year saw a total of 110,400 vehicles offered to customers across all regions of the Czech Republic. The most common price was CZK 139,000. The vehicles offered were slightly older, with the age rising from 9.4 years in February to 9.5 years in March. The number of kilometres on the clock also rose slightly by 400 km to 155,400 kilometres. AAA AUTO has regularly monitored the used car market in Central Europe for several years. It makes use of the median in its statistics, because this value has a higher interpretative value and characterises the used car market more accurately.

Shortest month of the year sees fewer and newer vehicles

Prague 2 March 2018 – A total of 98,508 vehicles were offered for sale to customers in all regions of the Czech Republic in the second month of this year. These cars were most commonly priced at CZK 138,000. The vehicles for sale in February were slightly newer than in January, with the age falling from 9.6 years to 9.4 years. The number of kilometres on the clock fell by 300 km, to 155,000 kilometres. AAA AUTO, which has monitored the used car market constantly for several years, has started to use a different data processing method. Instead of average values it takes the so-called median into consideration, which has a higher interpretive value and characterises the used car market even more accurately.

Prague, 22 February 2018 – AAA AUTO has won the prestigious Superbrands award for the second time. The awards were handed out for the fifth time following their revival in the Czech Republic; they have been awarded globally since 1994. The aim of the assessment is to identify brands with an excellent position on the local market. 35% of the used cars advertised in January are imported, they frequently have an unclear history

Prague, 6 February 2018 – There were over 114 thousand used cars offered for sale in the Czech Republic in January and over one third of these were imported. Their price was an average of CZK 129,500. The age of the offered vehicles ranged around 9.6 years with a mileage of 155,300 km. AAA AUTO, which has continuously monitored the used car market for several years, has switched to a new method of data processing. Instead of average values, it takes the so-called median into consideration, a value that has a much higher evidential value and characterises the used car market more accurately.

Nearly new vehicles on the Czech market are getting newer and newer, with fewer kilometres on the clock and stable price

Prague 10th January 2018 – The most expensive and newest nearly-new used cars are offered by companies in the Karlovy Vary Region, half of these were priced at over 606,000 Czech crowns last year. The least expensive were offered by businesses in the Plzeň and Olomouc regions and surprisingly also in Prague (at an average price of CZK 425,000). Private sellers made up only about six per cent of vendors in this vehicle segment. These are the results of the continuous market monitoring carried out by the Mototechna Company.

Best-selling used car of 2017 was silver hatchback with manual gearbox

Prague, 4 January 2018 – The AAA AUTO International Company sold 75,372 vehicles last year across the entire group, of which 46,744 were sold in the Czech Republic. The firm is the second biggest car dealer in the country after Skoda Auto. The title of most popular used car variant was again held by the silver hatchback with petrol engine, which won the popularity stakes for the third year running following the long-standing earlier domination of the market by estate models. Last year’s sales were led by vehicles with a manual gearbox, two-wheel drive and performance output of 70-85 kW. These are the results of the AAA AUTO Index annual analysis of best-selling used car specifications.
